The Tendril Path | Piece I - The Opening

The Opening

“This is the beginning. Not of time, but of presence.”

The Opening is the first pull into presence. The void hasn’t been shattered, but it has been stirred. A glowing white sphere appears, not as a sun or moon, but as a presence. It hovers, unspeaking, pulling shapes toward itself.

Red and white tendrils curve inward from the edges of the canvas, not to touch the orb, but to orbit it. They twist and lean, as if drawn in unwillingly. There is no calm here—just motion. Friction. The pull of something starting.

This piece is about awakening without meaning. That moment when emotion stirs before language. Before the glyphs. Before the ritual. Before the wound.

Crafted entirely on a 10.2-inch iPad using Procreate, the composition unfolded through raw gestural movements and layered erasure. It emphasizes restraint. There are no marks that don’t belong. The blackness is not background, it is origin.

The Opening is the first in a series of seven works called The Tendril Path, which explores symbolic emotion through gesture, disruption, and echo. This is the quiet before the rupture. The shape before the scream.
