The Tendril Path | Piece V - The Wound Remains

The Wound Remains

“What does a shape become after it breaks? A wound. A trace. A memory.”

The Wound Remains is the quiet before the collapse. Following the gestural energy of Hands Beyond Shape, this piece brings the series into a new phase - stillness that stings, not in motion but in aftermath.

The white orb persists, but it is no longer whole. A single red mark leaks from its center like a cut that no longer bleeds but hasn’t closed. Faint tendrils, one white, one red, hover nearby, detached, like forgotten limbs or memories. They do not reach. They float.

Designed in Procreate with visible restraint, dry brushwork, textured streaks, and matte black paint. Every form is imperfect by design, each stroke a remnant rather than an arrival. It’s not an image of pain, but of what pain leaves behind.

This piece sets the stage for the symbolic chaos of Whispers of the Divided Moon. It doesn’t erupt - it simmers. A soft echo of something too large to contain.
